1 March 2020

1 March 12020 is Zero Discrimination Day. It is also the eighty-eighth anniversary of the Lindbergh kidnapping. In the world at large bad things continue to happen—the novel coronavirus first noted in China continues to disrupt the world economy—and continues to be downplayed by the current administration. Trump appears to be playing the odds here—most outbreaks are brought under control within a reasonable timeframe. Of course, if improbable events never happened President Clinton would be running things today, and the world would be a lot better off. With an administration as improbable as this one, I don’t know that playing the odds gives a lot of comfort.
