“I Had My Orders”

 4 February 2019 is Rosa Parks Day, observed in California and Missouri according to my calendar. (1 December is Rosa Parks Day here in Oregon as well as Ohio; that was the day of the incident that led to the Montgomery bus boycott; today is the anniversary of her birth.) The bus driver who had her arrested was one James F. Blake, but I’ve never seen the name of the “white passenger” who demanded that four other paying customers give up their seats so he could sit down given. “I had my orders” Blake is supposed to have said about the incident, but the anonymous white passenger was just being a Nick Sandmann-style jerk.
