6 February 2019 is the International Day of Zero Tolerance for
Female Genital Mutilation. It’s also the day after President Trump
delivered his delayed State of the Union address, which I didn’t watch and so have
no comment on. We read that Officer Number 1, who killed Emantic Bradford Jr.
in an Alabama mall as he attempted to defend himself and others against an
active shooter, will face no charges. (If Bradford had mistakenly killed the
officer you can bet he would be
facing charges.) And ICE has arrested rapper 21 Savage for overstaying his visa—a
reminder of just how idiotic these laws are. And it seems that for some unknown
reason the magnetic north pole is fleeing Canada for Russia. What does it know
that we don’t?
