Quotation of the Day

Don't talk to me about government-instituted "death panels". The real death panels are the ones in that building in downtown Philadelphia, and similar ones belonging to other health insurance companies around the nation. The ones who attempt to stymie you at every turn in your efforts to access your "covered benefits". The ones who hope you will give up, go away, or die before they ever have to get around to paying anything on any of your claims.

Only two things will make health care affordable in this country:

1. Removal of the insurance industry from the equation, except perhaps for strange or catastrophic injury or illness. They are a parasite on the process and add nothing that couldnt be done more efficiently by the government.

2. The end (or a limiting) of paying doctors and hospitals by the procedure. Why doctors cannot make a salary and show up for work just like everyone else, I dont know. Pay hospitals/clinics a salary, let them pass that on to the doctors. That ought to put an end to unnecessary procedures

Like I said in my post, I'm usually not one that reads a lot of Zuska's posts, but she's got it pegged with the stuff about health care reform.

I think we all need to gang up on the guys on Capitol Hill and tell them how they're all going to be looking for work after the next election unless thay actually do something about health care. This isn't a partisan issue, this is a human rights issue.
