I've also dealt with storage places, and damn near lost my stuff a couple of times (I did loose some antiques that I'd aquired, but because I couldnt get in to the storage place until I paid up, and I didnt have the money right then).

And your comment was dead on.daveawayfromhomehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06237313399294302353noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14338594.post-91138605467428703752009-06-21T16:42:59.729-07:002009-06-21T16:42:59.729-07:00I've been avoiding the specifics of the disast...I've been avoiding the specifics of the disaster, to be honest, and I suppose I should just shut up about it, but I keep being frustrated at every turn. A short version is that I had to make room for family members to move in, and it had to be done quickly, so the bulk of my library and a large number of my files and papers went into storage. Money got tight, payments on the storage unit weren't kept up, and, well, everything is now gone.

The thing is, when I started the blog these notes were sort of what I wrote from. Sometimes they were more of a crutch; I'd remember something, check it against my original notes, find my memory was perfectly good, and move on. Sometimes they inspired me to write something new. And I had books I'd picked up at various places; one entry I wanted to do was based on a turn-of-the-century sexual health volume I had. And I had notes on an 1872-3 movement to add a constitutional amendment that would officially declare the United States a Christian nation that I thought would make a wonderful blog entry or two. And I was really looking forward to having this stuff back, and it's been kind of a shock to me to lose it.

I apologize for going on about it. I probably am going to continue bitching, though, till I get the hang of working without them.

Oh, by the way, your post "a thought on the health issue" expresses my thoughts exactly. I was going to quote it here, but as I looked at it I realized I was going to end up reproducing the entire thing, so I just left a comment.sbhhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05074136019151416282noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14338594.post-91816515112175913382009-06-21T15:43:39.761-07:002009-06-21T15:43:39.761-07:00Both "pro-life" and "pro-choice&quo...Both "pro-life" and "pro-choice" are marketing terms meant to obscure the issues even as they claim to define them. They are, like any advertising, lies designed to sell something (in this case ideas), rather than inform.

So, how did you loose all this stuff? I read all the new posts, but I dont recall seeing a description of the disaster.daveawayfromhomehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06237313399294302353noreply@blogger.com
